Jarvis AI is real – Google accidentally leaks its AI agent that browses the web for you - Tech Radar

Excerpt:

“According to The Information, Google posted an internal preview of the product, codenamed Jarvis, on the Chrome extension store but was quick to remove the prototype before too many users noticed.

The listing read “a helpful companion that surfs the web with you.” which lines up with the news from October that Google was developing Jarvis, the AI agent that would help you shop online and even be able to book your next vacation. …

With The Information reporting Google plans to officially unveil Jarvis in December, this leak confirms that we won’t have long to wait.”

2. The Rising Influence of the Creator Economy: A Powerful Shift in Modern Marketing – Merca 20

The Rising Influence of the Creator Economy: A Powerful Shift in Modern Marketing - Merca 20

Excerpt:

“Recent data published in The Economist Magazine highlights that an impressive 57% of Gen Z in America view influencer work as a desirable career, and 53% consider it a reputable choice. …

This influencer economy, valued at $24 billion in 2024, has tripled since 2019. Marketers know the immense opportunity this presents and have increasingly allocated budgets to influencer marketing campaigns.

A few short years ago, only 37% of brands used influencer marketing. Today, that number has reached 86% globally, with nearly a quarter of companies dedicating over 40% of their budgets to these strategies. …

While traditional platforms like Instagram and YouTube remain strongholds, newer entrants such as TikTok have transformed how brands approach digital advertising. … TikTok enables brands to connect with young consumers who view social media as their primary source of information and entertainment. … TikTok’s charm lies in the power of micro-influencers who drive niche engagement, often yielding higher interaction rates than their mega-influencer counterparts. …

Instagram, known for its versatility, has long been the platform for influencers and brands. Offering various tools for content creation — from Stories and Reels to a shopping tab that facilitates direct brand interaction — Instagram has become a hub for influencer marketing campaigns. …

YouTube content has allowed brands to incorporate storytelling, creating more memorable consumer experiences. Mid- to large-tier influencers with followers ranging from 100,000 to one million drive some of the highest engagement rates, especially with tutorial and review-style content. …

Research shows that nearly three-quarters of Gen Z in America rely on influencers for product recommendations. Yet, this influence also spans older age groups, including a third of boomers who use influencers as a trusted source for product discovery.”

Google DeepMind Just Made Small Models Irrelevant with RRTs - Analytics India Mag

Excerpt:

“Google DeepMind’s approach to reducing the cost, computing, and resources required for an LLM to function, is a ray of hope for various environmental and sustainability concerns.

Google DeepMind, in collaboration with KAIST AI, suggests a method called Relaxed Recursive Transformers, or RRTs.

It allows LLMs to be programmed to behave like small language models yet outperform many of the standard SLMs present in the ecosystem today …

Google DeepMind proposes a technique called Layer Tying. Instead of processing the input through a large number of layers, it can be made to pass through a small number of layers recursively, so that it creates an equivalent impact. This cuts down memory requirements and significantly reduces computational resources. …

The recursive, uptrained Gemma model uptrained on 60 billion tokens and achieved performance parity with the full-size Gemma model trained on 3 trillion tokens.”

4. I found these 5 tips helped me get the most out of ChatGPT Search – Tom’s Guide

I found these 5 tips helped me get the most out of ChatGPT Search - Tom's Guide

Excerpt:

“I’ve used SearchGPT as my default search engine in Chrome for nearly a week and the more I use it the more useful I find it. …

I’ve pulled together a few tips and tricks I’ve picked up after spending time using ChatGPT Search that might prove useful if you also decide to make the switch. …

Use natural language

Have a conversation

Use the citations

Find the links and go multimedia

Specify your sources … Because of the way sources are still pulled in you can also use ChatGPT for a ‘site-specific search’. Just ask it to only look at a specific website. No need to specify site:tomsguide.com as you would with Google, just say “find stories about Apple Intelligence on tomsguide.com” or even just Tom’s Guide and it will know what you mean.

As well as specifying your source you can also specify a time range. So, for example, you could ask it to find all the stories about ChatGPT written by Ryan Morrison for Tom’s Guide in June 2024 and it will refine the search without any need to change settings or use tools.”

Now let’s review this week’s X content.

Finally, let’s review this week’s choice of TikTok content.

PSA: scroll slowly on mobile, to avoid timing out.
