And we’re off …
🧑💻 Marketing word of the week: “Value proposition”
Your value proposition is a clear and concise statement that explains how your product or service solves your customer’s problem. It tells your ideal customer why they should choose your brand over the competition.

The purpose of a value proposition is to differentiate your company from its competitors, convince customers to buy your product or service, explain why its different from similar offerings, and communicate your company’s values to your customers.
When writing a value proposition, keep it short, use statistics or facts to back up your case, avoid confusing jargon, and, of course, make it unique to you!
🤖 AI word of the week: “Vector”
In the context of machine learning, a vector is essentially a list of numbers that represents data. I think of it like a set of coordinates pinpointing a location in a multidimensional space. For example, a vector might represent the meaning of a word by assigning numbers to different aspects of that item.

In search engines, vectors help turn words and phrases into numbers that machines can work with. When a search engine processes a query, it may convert the text into a vector. This numerical representation captures the essence of the words, allowing the search engine to compare the query with other vectors representing webpages or documents.
This process is at the heart of semantic search. Instead of matching exact keywords, the search engine uses vectors to understand the deeper meaning (intent) behind a query. By comparing the vector of your search query with vectors of potential answers, it can deliver results that are more contextually relevant—even if the words don’t exactly match.
😄 Introduction to week 87: What’s In a Title (Tag)
One of the first items I check when auditing a site are the title tags.
It’s such an easy adjustment to make and often presents you with optimization opportunities to improve the pages’ relevance for users.
When that happens, search engines generally reward you with improved rankings, or at least a better CTR.
This week, I came across a site competing for some competitive terms except the title tags hadn’t been properly set.
Quick fix!
Within a day, their rankings had improved.
Never discount the power of title tags.
Thank you for supporting Hamsterdam and the cause of SEO & AI learning. 🙏
Enjoy the vibes:
