And we’re off …
🧑💻 Marketing word of the week: “User-generated content”
UGC is content created by customers directly, such as reviews, testimonials, or social media posts. It can be used to build brand credibility and authenticity as well as foster a sense of community through shared experience.

UGC is a powerful form of social proof, which can enhance conversion rates as positive customer experiences can influence other customers’ actions.
In the realm of SEO, UGC can be a powerful way to demonstrate experience, the first E in E-E-A-T.
More and more, we’re seeing social media appear in search results. Having a plan of action for managing (and moderating) UGC can help your brand take advantage of that real estate and also reach your audience on alternate platforms beyond search.
🤖 AI word of the week: “Unsupervised learning”
Unsupervised learning is a branch of ML that deals with unlabeled data. In short, the algorithm is not given any explicit answers during training. Instead, it uncovers hidden patterns, structures, or relationships from the dataset on its own.

Unsupervised learning can be used in applications such as customer segmentation (identifying distinct customer groups based on purchasing behavior, demographics, etc.), data exploration, as well as recommendation systems (clustering similar items or users to inform recommendations).
The main advantage of unsupervised learning is that it works with raw or unlabeled data, making it effective for when labeled datasets aren’t available or are too costly to produce. That said, interpreting the results can be subjective, since there’s no ground truth, which requires domain expertise to judge the quality of discovered patterns.
😄 Introduction to week 86: DeepThink with Deep Seek
A big part of my SEO work these days is updating existing content, making it more user friendly and less SEO-y.
A cool tool for helping in this endeavor is using DeepThink (R1) in Deep Seek.
When you add in content to your prompt and ask for ways to restructure it for clarity or to follow the inverted pyramid structure, for example, you can watch the model think and critique the existing content.
Reading the model’s reasoning can be just as insightful as the final output.
So the next time you have content to restructure, consider putting it into Deep Seek and reading its rationale for how to improve it. You may glean some extra interesting tidbits.
Thank you for supporting Hamsterdam and the cause of SEO & AI learning. 🙏
Enjoy the vibes:
